Hi, I'm Leah Watkins, and I have never lived in a quiet house.
For as long as I can remember there's been a dog at my feet, a cat on the windowsill and fur on everything I own. I wouldn't trade a single one of them. What I could do without was the routine that came with them: brushes that sent more hair into the air than they caught, lint rollers that ran out of sheets by Tuesday, muddy paw prints from the front door to the sofa, and grooming sessions that ended with everyone stressed out, me included.
I kept buying whatever the pet aisle had. Most of it looked fine on the shelf and fell apart in a real home with real animals. It broke, it frightened them, or it ended up forgotten in a drawer. The stuff in stores just wasn't cutting it.
So I started Pawkyn.
The name is paw + kin, because pets aren't accessories. They're family. They sleep on our beds, they greet us at the door and they're there on the hard days. Family deserves better than "good enough."
Every Pawkyn tool has to earn its place by answering one question: would I hand this to a friend with a nervous rescue and a white couch? If the answer is no, we don't sell it.
